In the latest of Lynn Farley-Rose’s guest posts, she shares an excerpt from her conversation with Leonora:
“It’s very, very interesting to be in late age. Our culture tells us that after eighty-five, we’re just ‘elderly’. But it’s not like that at all. The difference between being ninety-four and ninety-seven is quite remarkable. There’s a whole load of us ninety-somethings but there’s very little literature on it. There must be other people out there feeling the same, and they ought to be heard.”
Leonora did her PhD research on late age, she cared for both her parents in late age and now aged 97 she’s experiencing it for herself. Interviewee Number 17 in The Interview Chain. Published by Holland House Books, 30th June 2021.
